Please wear gloves while installing all fixtures. Touching raw brass with bare hands will tarnish the brass.
• Sealed Brass - Solid brass that is lightly sealed with an anti-tarnish additive to prevent the brass from aging or developing a patina.
• Black - Durable satin powder coated finish

Overall, this light is very nice and works well, easy to install. Just be aware that the white globes shown in the pictures are actually specialty bulbs, and are not included when you order (I thought they were glass globes that smaller bulbs were put into). I'm giving less stars because it's not clear from the pictures and descriptions that what you see are the bulbs that aren't included, and also the bulbs that you order from this company are sort of dim (40W). I wouldn't recommend this light for a room that requires bright lighting.
